Dr. Abhishek Srivastava was first to get a PhD in Neurological Rehabilitation in the country from the prestigious National Institute of Mental Health & Neurosciences (NIMHANS). Dr. Srivastava has done advanced training from the best institutes in USA, Singapore and Itlay.
His forte is Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, of which more than 275 cases have been done over 4 years with a success rate of 97%. Conversion to open surgery was needed in 2% of cases. Procedures done include:

Dr Abhishek Srivastava is Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, Specialist in Neurological Rehabilitation and Director, Center for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai. He is a Triple Doctorate in Rehabilitation Medicine, First PhD in Neurological Rehabilitation in the country from the prestigious National Institute of Neurosciences, Bangalore and underwent specialty training at some of the best centers in the United States, Europe and Singapore.
Dr Srivastava has more than 12 years of experience in Rehabilitation Medicine. He has set up the first and only of its kind Comprehensive Center for Rehabilitation in India at Kokilaben Hospital with state of the art technology, a multidisciplinary trained team with inpatient rehab beds, day care and outpatient services.
He has managed more than 5000 patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical problems in last the last 4 years at Kokilaben Hospital and has performed more than 300 Botulinum Toxin procedures for Adult Spasticity Management. His clinical areas of interest are stroke, traumatic brain injury, hypoxic encephalopathy and spinal cord injury rehabilitation. He is an expert in 3D Instrumented Gait Analysis and multimodality spasticity management including Botulinum toxin injections. He has active research interest in recent advances in Neurorecovery and Neuroplasticity and is conducting multiple research studies on regeneration, repair and rehabilitation after neurologic injury.
He has received numerous Awards and Fellowships in the field of Neurosciences and Rehabilitation including the prestigious "Young Physician's Scholarship" from the World Stroke Organization, Best Research Paper from the Neurological Society of India, IAPMR Gold Medal and Dr Anisya Vasanth Award for his pioneering research work
Dr Srivastava is an Honorary Medical Staff Member at the reputed Shepherd Medical Center, Atlanta, USA. He is among the few Physicians from across the world who was invited to contribute in the Preamble to the International Symposium held by the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Faculty at the World Congress of Neurology and International Spinal Cord Society. He has edited one book, contributed four book chapters, published 40 research papers, and delivered more then 100 invited lectures & presented papers at various International and National meetings in the field of Neurosciences and Rehabilitation.
Dr Srivastava is a Resource Person for World Health Organization Projects, Expert for the Indian Council of Medical Research Geriatrics Research Committee & Disability Research Group, and a member of the National Board of Examinations Curriculum Review Committee. He is the Founder Director of the Indian Federation of Neurorehabilitation, Executive Committee Member of the Indian Association of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Editor of the Newsletter of Indian Stroke Society and Peer Reviewer for various International Journals.
